WHY ASUU YET TO CALL OFF STRIKE – FINDINGS

source:hotnaijanews.com

Findings had revealed that the over four-month industrial action embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Universities  had not been called off due to the fact that the Congresses of the Union had not yet decided on the agreement reached between  the former and the federal government of Nigeria.

Also, it was gathered from sources close to the Union that certain issues would not be made known to the public, except to the ASUU members to avoid other Unions’ agitations.
This follows that deliberations made behind closed door would be only revealed to the ASUU members, sources disclosed.

Meanwhile, some students had engaged in certain activities like tailoring, decorations, among          others to keep themselves busy and away from boredom, as gathered by the Conscience Post.

It would be recalled that the over three-month 2009 ASUU strike was finally resolved at the local branches after the intervention by the Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole.
