The Poet (second from right), Emmanuel Motojesi, with others after the press conference in Ibadan recently.

Motojesi Emmanuel, a 300-level student of Department of Archaeology and Anthropology, University of Ibadan, has launched his anthology titled, ‘’Peregrinations  of An Inspired Soul’’ recently in Ibadan, being among very few students that write and publish books in recent times.
Emmanuel expressed during a press briefing around Bodija, in Ibadan, recently, that metaphor, paradox and irony formed the main poetic devices employed in the work, ‘’I also think that life is a paradox, people say that it is destiny, we have our own destiny to build, and my destiny could be to get to the end of a junction, and how I get there is that I move from here to that place.’’
To him, life is a source of inspiration, getting inspired by all that happens around him,as he stated that sometimes therecould be what to talk about, but there might not be the right expression to do such, hence his ability to put up his thoughts in a book was prevention of the escape of the poetic expressions in the anthology.
‘’My job is to present the world in such a way that is meaningful so what you look out for is dependent on you. The peregrinations of an informed soul is the peregrinations of a soul that isinspired, but then the soul was not inspired in vacuum. It was inspired by same thing that inspires other people,’ he explained further on what inspired him.
He said learning was inspiring that he would keep learning, and writing, adding that the University of Ibadan has been a wonderful place for him.
‘’ Very few people go out of their ways to read other books. We have done a lot of work to make people get the book,’’ he said on the reading culture of the people especially Africans, as hefurther stated that, ‘’there would be electronic copies of the book, and right now we are in a process that the book is on Amazon.com, an electronic company where people can get soft copies of the book.Basically, the most important thing we can assure everybody is that this book will be available in major bookshops at least in Ibadan, and other places: Lagos, Port Harcourt, Kaduna. People can check the meanings of words in the collection, read those meanings toglean into what the poet is writing about, just to make it more accessible and readable to readers. People should be encouraged to read no matter what shape, copy or colour it comes out. We should make excuses for people sometimes on why they are not reading, but not every time.
